At Blessed Sacrament we use Life Teen as our High School Religious Education and Ministry program. Life Teen is an international Catholic youth ministry catechesis, which seeks to lead teens closer to Christ. Life Teen is 100% Catholic using the Catechism and scripture coupled with personal testimony to engage the youth to grow deeper in their faith.
Life teen is open to all 9th - 12th grade students at Blessed Sacrament, as well as their friends! Our "Life Nights" consist of dinner, talks, small group discussion, prayer, praise and worship, games, and activities to engage the teens in different topics of their faith. We meet Sunday evenings from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
We do not teach each topic with individual catechists, but rather with a Core Team of adult volunteers active in their faith. The goal of the Core Team is to encourage and help the teens in their faith journey by cultivating a relational ministry and spreading the Gospel message.
If you have a child in 9th - 12th grade and would like more information regarding the Life Teen program please check out the Life Teen website at the link below, the Blessed Sacrament facebook page, or contact Hannah Kallenbach, at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (757) 423-8305.
In the Diocese of Richmond youth are Confirmed in the spring of their 10th grade year. Confirmation classes will begin in January and typically meet every other week for 8 weeks and include a weekend retreat in Sandbridge in Virginia Beach. The classes are held on Sundays from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. I strongly encourage anyone interested in the Confirmation program to also join us for LifeTeen.
