“MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC”
By Gregg Marino, Director of Music Ministries
The Music Ministry is indeed blessed! For the upcoming season, we have two new cantors already serving and one in training, we have three new members for the Adult Choir, at least two for the Youth Choir, and the Young Musicians group will surely grow as well. This season, at the pastor’s request, the Youth Choir and Young Musicians will be providing the music for three Masses per semester, instead of two as in the past. The new brochures are available on the table outside the main office.
Thank you for your continued support of our music program. Each and every member of the Music Ministry takes joy from what we do in service of our parish.
The Adult Choir rehearses Thursdays at 7:00 PM and sings during the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass. Altos in particular (mid-range women's voices) are needed currently. There is something for everyone: those who like to sing alone and those who like to sing in a group.
Cantors are needed to cover the 5:00 PM Saturday and 8:00 AM Sunday Masses. A cantor is a solo songleader who leads the assembly in song. Cantors rehearse during the week, evenings, or whenever they are available.
The Youth Choir rehearses on alternating Sundays from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM and sings two to three times each semester. Children from reading age through high school are welcome.
Young Musicians Group—Instrumentalists
The Young Musicians Group rehearses on alternating Sundays from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM and accompanies Mass two to three times each semester. School age children with at least one year of study on their instrument are welcome.
